Hi Everyone

Here is an opportunity to have you say and be part of a day that networks and shares ideas on conservation and biodiversity in Hamilton City. 

Please find attached the invitation to the next Waikato Biodiversity Forum event to be held in Hamilton with a focus on working together better in and around Hamilton  and sharing ideas that will benefit the Local Indigenous Biodiversity Strategy that the Hamilton City Council and Regional Council are developing.

As a member of the Friends of Waiwhakareke Natural Heritage Park  you are most welcome to attend.

Kia ora/Greetings   
The next Waikato Biodiversity Forum is to be held 2.30pm-7.30pm on Friday 23 June 2017 at St Pius Primary School Hall. 57 Pine Ave, Melville, Hamilton 

To connect those working on biodiversity in and around Kirikiriroa - Hamilton, and to form a shared vision for this work.


Purposes of the day
  • Work together to maximise outcomes for biodiversity in Hamilton City
  • Network and share ideas with others who undertake conservation work
  • Discuss where to from here for biodiversity in Hamilton City
  • View Mangakotukutuku gully -a site of biodiversity enhancement in the city

 Agenda 

2.30pm Field trip 13 Waterford Road (see more details in registration form)
Gather at Mangakotukutuku Gully, Sandford Park to hear from members of the Streamcare Group about plant pest, restoration planting and enhancement of fish habitat in the gully.

 3.30pm  Afternoon tea in the Hall

4.00pm  Background to Hamilton City Council’s Local Indigenous Biodiversity Strategy project

4.10pm    Visionary thinkers on biodiversity in Kirikiriroa

Field trip location and parking details
Please meet in the carpark area on the grass through the entrance at 13 Waterford Road, Melville for the field trip.

Wear walking boots, warm clothes and wet weather jacket for the site visit.

Parking information for the School Hall
Please park in the carpark beside the Church and walk down the drive towards the school. The Hall is on the left of the school buildings.

Please bring warm socks to wear in the Hall as no shoes are to be worn inside.

 Car pooling  Let me know if you are interested in car pooling either offering your car or need a ride and I will link you up with others who are attending the day.

 Bring handouts of information you think maybe of use to Forum attendees.
